Sixth Grade An outline of learning principles and processes: Flexible grouping is used in all areas: Connected Math, the District's math curriculum used in grades 6, 7, and 8. Humanities following the Core Knowledge framework, topics include 20th century American history, the French Revolution and the Ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome. Balanced Literacy includes Readers' and Writers' workshop, Literature Circles, Accelerated and STAR reader. Students follow weekly current events in "Time for Kids". Field trip events include Exchange City (a Junior Achievement project), Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Artists in Cahoots, and Wolf Ridge. Welcome to 6th Grade!  Ms. Fredrickson
