Students will learn to understand and appreciate many kinds of art and the role art plays in reflecting culture, history and human emotion. Students will develop skills in creating art as a means of expression and illustration. They will gain a vocabulary of art terms that will enable them to describe and understand art. Art will be taught as a visual language that aims at enriching students' visual and critical awareness of art and the world around them.
