Students participate in: team sports; physical fitness; dance and rhythms; track and field; ball skills; low organized games; manipulative skills (hula hoop, bean bag, parachute); movement exploration; body management and safety skills; locomotor and non-locomotor skills.
The building blocks for fitness include: Physical. Cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, body/space awareness, lifetime skills.
Cognitive. Decision making, functioning under stress, strategic thinking and problem-solving, ability to focus and maintain, generating alternatives.
Emotional. Appropriate outlet for aggression, learning to handle stress, develop self confidence, ability to persevere.
Social. Positive interaction with others, being part of a group, being a team leader, taking turns, making friends.
