Kindergarten is an environment that nurtures the whole child.
Numerous hands-on activities are provided daily for your child. Our
focus is pre-reading, math, and social skills. At Longfellow Humanities Magnet School your child
receives time with all the specialists: Art, Spanish, and Science. Students also receive Physical Education (everyday),
Computer and Music.

Our rooms are arranged using learning centers. This allows each
child to work at their own pace and explore their own individual
interests.

Our math curriculum is based on many different hands-on activities.
Students learn that there is more than one way to solve a problem.

Our Humanities curriculum is team-taught throughout the year.
Some of the Humanities topics include:
Beginning Geography, the Seven Continents, Native Americans
of the North East, Central America, St. Paul and Minnesota.

In connection with our Humanities, field trips include: Hugo Animal
Farm, Como Planetarium, Minnesota Children's Museum, Minneapolis
Institute of Arts, and the Como Zoo.
